Our Roots 🌱

The Paper Garden was born in a season of my life when I wasn’t okay.

In 2025, everything felt heavy. My child became very sick and had to be flown to a children’s hospital, where she was treated for pancreatitis. Not long after, I began feeling unwell too. After many tests and uncertainty, I learned I needed surgery to remove my gallbladder. What followed were complications, time away from work, and slowly watching my savings disappear just trying to stay afloat.

But what I don’t think people talk about enough… is what happens after.

My mental health began to quietly unravel.
I was living with anxiety, migraines, insomnia, and a deep sense of exhaustion—physically and emotionally. I reached a point where I knew… I didn’t want to keep living that way.

So I chose something different

I started therapy even though it wasn’t something I grew up believing in. And little by little, I began to understand that healing doesn’t always come in big moments… sometimes it’s found in the quiet ones.

One day, my therapist gave me the simplest homework:
Sit in a quiet space and do something you love.

That moment changed everything.

I began creating small pockets of peace—driving with my husband and daughter, listening to soft piano, watching the sunrise and sunset… learning how to slow down again.

Then I started setting aside intentional time just for me.
I read more. I journaled. I worked through self-love exercises. I deepened my faith.

And slowly… I found my way back to myself.

Back to art.
Back to coloring.
Back to creating.

That’s where The Paper Garden began.
